Building Automation Specialist

We are currently seeking a Building Automation Specialist located in Lakewood, CO.  This position serves as regional Project Manager for the Smart Buildings implementation and BAS migration projects, and Technical Advisor for the proper operation, care, servicing, and repair of building operating systems and equipment in GSA-owned buildings. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and performs assigned projects to improve and validate existing HVAC systems, Building Automation Systems, Advance Metering Systems, and Lighting Systems.
  • Reviews, comments, and makes recommendations involving mechanical drawings specifically dealing with HVAC systems
  • Technical representative to the contracting officer for operation and maintenance
  • Team member on biannual customer service center evaluations and annual delegated building inspections.
  • Evaluates operation and maintenance, and energy conservation programs.
  • Prioritizes projects and coordinates work assignments.
  • Monitors, controls, and coordinates implementation of special program modifications.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot HVAC and chiller systems, and making repair/replace recommendations.
  • Manages Open Protocol's such as BacNet.
  • Develops and/or recommends improved methods, procedures, and systems to reduce costs without impairing effectiveness.
  • Develops and/or recommends both low/no cost proposals as well as major expenditures for systems, equipment, technology, or facilities
  • Makes recommendations for program funding
  • Prepares and provides independent Government estimates and costs based on current labor rates, historical and/or projected material costs.
  • Develops, reviews, analyzes, and evaluates deficiency reports and equipment malfunction reports.
  • Provides direction and coordination for performance profile surveys, equipment inspections, technical troubleshooting, maintenance evaluations, and workload analysis.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of eight years experience.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree.
